David’s Lentil Burger with Sautéed Shiitake Mushrooms

In this recipe, the sautéed fresh shiitake mushrooms pair beautifully with the shiitake mushrooms already in the Lentil Walnut burger! All this deliciousness on a pillowy naan bread!

Ingredients

  • 1 x VG Gourmet Lentil Walnut Artisan Vegan Burger
  • 1 x Naan Bread, slightly toasted
  • 1 x Small Tomato, sliced
  • 1 x Tsp. Vegetable Oil
  • 4 x Fresh Shiitake Mushrooms
  • 1 x Tbsp. Turmeric Aioli (Mix together ½ Cup Vegan Mayo with 1 tsp. Turmeric, 1 Clove Garlic, a pinch of salt)

Directions

  1. Heat the VG Gourmet Lentil Walnut Burger as directed.
  2. To prepare the crispy shiitake mushrooms: place the oil in a skillet over medium high heat and add in the fresh shiitake mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 minutes until slightly crispy.
  3. To assemble, place the VG Gourmet Lentil Walnut Burger on the naan bread and top with a large dollop of the turmeric aioli and your crispy shiitake mushrooms. Add a couple of tomato slices and a few sprigs of fresh mint if desired.
